I left the next morning with such a mix of emotions. I was keen to see my family of course, and even more desperate to leave Tortuguero after Hurricane Julia hit the Caribbean causing flash flooding and landslips, but the downside was leaving an incredible place where I had learnt so much and met such wonderful people.
