I’m loving writing Part Two of the memoir because it’s the start of the real adventure. It’s also great to refresh my mind about what I was thinking and feeling almost a year ago when I first arrived in Tortuguero.

However, even though these are really enjoyable chapters to write, I do struggle with how to frame them sometimes. I want them to read as true to reality as possible but I also want them to have a narrative drive, and to be engaging. This means I sometimes spend days refining the words.
