Author Commentary

I called a Facebook post I made about these trips to Monteverde, the Poás Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Gardens, ‘Days of Firsts’ because that’s what they were - special experiences - the first time I’d seen a hummingbird, a toucan, a cloud forest, and an active volcano. For this reason, these ‘touring chapters’ as I’m calling them, were straightforward to write. They are more journalistic than the rest of the book which gives the reader a different experience from the first and second halves which are more emotionally charged.
